Latest News
Nov. 16 3:12 PM PT4:12 PM MT5:12 PM CT6:12 PM ET11:12 PM GMT7:12 AM 北京时间-Williams had his first 100-yard effort as a member of the Cowboys, totaling 105 yards and a touchdown in Dallas' 17-7 loss to Green Bay on Sunday.
Analysis: Williams did lose a fumble after one long catch, but it's a good sign that he seems to finally be developing some chemistry with Tony Romo. He'll try to keep the momentum going against Washington on Sunday after the Redskins allowed a big day to another big receiver - Denver's Brandon Marshall - last week.
Nov. 5 2:39 PM PT3:39 PM MT4:39 PM CT5:39 PM ET10:39 PM GMT6:39 AM 北京时间-Williams skipped to a slightly different tune this week by saying he still considers himself the No. 1 receiver despite mounting evidence to the contrary. He said "things are just going No. 2's way," referring to Miles Austin.
Analysis: The less-celebrated Austin has more yards and touchdowns in the past three games than Williams has in his first 16 with the Cowboys. Austin set an NFL record with 482 yards in his first three starts, while Williams has 447 yards for the equivalent of a full season in Dallas. He backtracked on comments that suggested quarterback Tony Romo's throws are accurate to Austin and all over the place to him.
Oct. 7 2:24 PM PT3:24 PM MT4:24 PM CT5:24 PM ET10:24 PM GMT6:24 AM 北京时间-Williams did not play Sunday against Kansas City because of a rib injury.
Analysis: He'll hope to return Oct. 25 vs. Atlanta, after Dallas' bye.
Sep. 21 3:34 PM PT4:34 PM MT5:34 PM CT6:34 PM ET11:34 PM GMT7:34 AM 北京时间-Williams caught one pass for 18 yards as the Cowboys lost their opener at their new stadium 33-31 against the Giants on Sunday night.
Analysis: Williams was a very small part of Dallas' offense in large part because Tony Romo struggled with his accuracy. Romo, who completed 13 of 29 passes and threw three interceptions, vowed to learn from his mistakes. However, the Dallas passing attack could have a hard time getting on track Monday against Carolina, allowing only 151.0 passing yards per game.
Aug. 28 10:25 AM PT11:25 AM MT12:25 PM CT1:25 PM ET6:25 PM GMT2:25 AM 北京时间-Williams has only a bruised shoulder from a hard collision with a teammate, yet still may not play against the San Francisco 49ers on Saturday night.
Analysis: Williams banged into cornerback Orlando Scandrick while going for a pass near the goal line during a practice at the team's new stadium Thursday night. X-rays showed no broken bones.
Aug. 27 7:37 PM PT8:37 PM MT9:37 PM CT10:37 PM ET3:37 AM GMT11:37 AM 北京时间-Williams injured his left shoulder on a goal-line collision with cornerback Orlando Scandrick in practice Thursday night.
Analysis: Williams was down for longer than normal, then was examined by athletic trainers and shouted in anger as he headed into the locker room before the workout ended. The Cowboys are counting on Williams to replace Terrell Owens as Tony Romo's top target.
Aug. 17 12:31 PM PT1:31 PM MT2:31 PM CT3:31 PM ET8:31 PM GMT4:31 AM 北京时间-Williams returned to practice Monday with his sprained left wrist protectively taped.
Analysis: After coming down hard on his wrist in the first workout Sunday, Williams missed the afternoon session while having X-rays that were negative. He was first in line to catch a pass from Tony Romo when the offense started its warmup session Monday. Cowboys coach Wade Phillips said he expects Williams to play in the preseason home opener Friday night against Tennessee.
Aug. 16 3:57 PM PT4:57 PM MT5:57 PM CT6:57 PM ET11:57 PM GMT7:57 AM 北京时间-Williams missed the team's second practice Sunday because of a sprained left wrist sustained when he came down hard earlier in the day.
Analysis: The Cowboys said X-rays were negative and that Williams, expected to be the team's No. 1 receiver after the departure of Terrell Owens, is day to day. The Cowboys have one practice session Monday. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Williams got hurt during the morning practice, and that the concern was that the wrist was still so sore when he returned for the afternoon session. That is when the Cowboys sent Williams for tests.
Aug. 3 1:15 PM PT2:15 PM MT3:15 PM CT4:15 PM ET9:15 PM GMT5:15 AM 北京时间-Williams is doing his best to replace Terrell Owens with the Cowboys. The Cowboys sent first-, third- and sixth-round picks to Detroit for Williams last October, then gave him a $45 million, five-year contract extension. In return, he provided a measly 19 catches for 198 yards and one touchdown in 10 games. Owens had 213 yards in a single game last season.
Analysis: At 6-foot-3, 209 pounds, Williams is a little taller and a little thinner than Owens. He's eight years younger, too. Williams may not be as fast, but the difference is not dramatic. "Everybody thinks I (stink)," Williams said. "I just have something to prove. It's not to prove that I don't (stink). It's just to be a consistent ballplayer."
